Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026. This is a draft under legal review; the binding version will be published before Zezado opens to the public. It is shown in English for now.
The short version
- Zezado is free for people. We never sell your data and never show you ads based on it.
- Your profile is public, like a CV you hand out. Your applications, messages and settings are not.
- You can download everything we hold about you, or delete your account, at any time.
Who we are
Zezado is operated by [legal entity name], [registered address] (“Zezado”, “we”). For anything about your data, write to privacy@zezado.com.
What we collect
- Account: your name and email address, and the language you use. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from them (Apple may give us a private relay address), nothing else.
- Profile (Career Passport): what you choose to add: headline, location, about, skills, jobs and education.
- Job search: applications you send and their answers, saved jobs and searches, companies you follow, and interview times you pick.
- Network: your connections and requests, communities you join, posts, comments and likes.
- Messages about an application, between you and the hiring team.
- Employers: company details, jobs, team members, decisions, interview proposals and private notes on applicants.
- Technical data: sign-in sessions, and request logs (IP address, time, page) kept for security and to fix problems.
Who sees what
- Your profile, posts and comments, and your connection count, are public.
- An application, with your profile and answers, is seen by the hiring team of that job only. Their private notes about you are never shown to you or anyone outside their team.
- Messages are seen by you and the job's owners and recruiters.
- Your connections, requests, saved jobs, searches, alerts and settings are seen by you only.
- When an employer confirms they hired you and you confirm it too, the job shows a “Work Stamp” on your profile.
Why we use it
To run the service you asked for (contract): your profile, applications, messages and the emails about them. To keep Zezado safe (legitimate interest): stopping spam, scams and abuse, and reviewing reports. We only send marketing email if you ask for it. Zezado does not make automated decisions that reject you: every decision on an application is made by a person at the employer, or the application closes after 14 days without one.
Where it's kept and who helps us
- Google Cloud, in Belgium (europe-west1): our servers, database and files.
- Resend: sending our emails.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Expo: delivering updates to the Zezado app.
These providers process data for us under contract and may not use it for themselves. When data leaves your country, we rely on the transfer safeguards your law requires, such as the EU's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, applications, messages, posts, connections and sign-in at once. Jobs and decisions an employer made stay with the employer, without your name. Request logs are kept for up to 30 days. Database backups roll over within 7 days.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your profile at any time, choose which emails you get in email settings, and download or delete everything in your data. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to how we use your data, to restrict it, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to privacy@zezado.com and we'll answer within 30 days.
Age
Zezado is for people aged 16 and over, or 18 and over where the law requires it, such as in India.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it applies.
